Titus 2
Paul instructs Titus to teach sound doctrine: that aged men be sober, aged women reverent, young women love their husbands, and young men be sober-minded. He declares that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: | But as for You, speak the things that are fitting for sound doctrine.
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. | Teach the older men to be sober, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in charity, and in patience.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; | Teach the older women in the same way — that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, but teachers of good things,
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, | so that they may train the young women to love their husbands and to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. | to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, kind, and obedient to their own husbands — so that the word of God is not spoken against.
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. | In the same way, urge the young men to be sober-minded.
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, | In all things, show Yourself to be a pattern of good works. In Your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sincerity,
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. | with sound speech that cannot be condemned — so that the opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about You.
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; | Urge servants to be obedient to their own masters and to please them well in all things — not talking back,
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. | not stealing, but showing all good faithfulness, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour.
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, | For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; | teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world,
