Psalms 92

The psalmist declares it good to praise the LORD with music, rejoicing in God's works and the downfall of the wicked. While evildoers spring up like grass only to be destroyed, the righteous flourish like palm trees and cedars, bearing fruit even in old age.

vKing James VersionModern English
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:It is good to praise the LORD and make music to Your name, O Most High,
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,to show forth Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night,
Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.For You make me glad by Your deeds, LORD; I sing for joy at what Your hands have done.
O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.How great are Your works, LORD, how profound Your thoughts!
A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand,
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.But You, LORD, are forever exalted.
For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.For surely Your enemies, LORD, surely Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.But my horn You shall exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.proclaiming, "The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him."
