Psalms 8
The psalmist marvels at the excellency of God's name in all the earth and asks what man is that God should be mindful of him. God has crowned man with glory and honour and given him dominion over the works of His hands.

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. | LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory in the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. | Through the praise of children and infants You have established a stronghold against Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; | When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place,
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? | what is man, that You are mindful of Him? And the son of man, that You visit Him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. | For You have made Him a little lower than the angels and crowned Him with glory and honor.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: | You made Him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under His feet:
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; | all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild,
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. | the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! | LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
