Psalms 30
The psalmist praises the LORD for lifting him from the depths and healing him. He testifies that God's anger lasts a moment but His favor lasts a lifetime: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. | I will exalt You, LORD, for You lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. | LORD my God, I called to You for help, and You healed me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. | LORD, You have brought up my soul from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. | Sing to the LORD, O You saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. | For His anger lasts only a moment. But His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. | When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. | LORD, when You favored me, You made my royal mountain stand firm; but when You hid Your face, I was dismayed.
I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. | To You, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? | "What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your faithfulness?
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. | Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help."
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; | You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. | that my heart may sing Your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever.
