Psalms 136

The psalmist gives thanks to the LORD in twenty-six verses, each ending with the refrain that His mercy endures forever. He praises God for creation, the exodus, the conquest of Canaan, and His care for His people in their low estate.

8	The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:	The sun to govern the day, His mercy endures forever.

10	To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:	To Him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, His mercy endures forever.

12	With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.	With a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His mercy endures forever.

25	Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.	He gives food to every creature. His mercy endures forever.
