Psalms 108

David praises God with a fixed heart, declaring God's mercy above the heavens and His sovereignty over all the lands of Israel and its neighbors. He asks God for help in battle, knowing that with God they will gain the victory, for the help of man is worthless.

11Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?Is it not You, God, You who have now rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?
12Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.
