Jeremiah 15

The LORD declared that even if Moses and Samuel stood before Him, He would not relent toward this people. He appointed four forms of destruction -- the sword, dogs, birds, and beasts. Jeremiah complained of his sorrow, and the LORD promised that if he returned and separated the precious from the worthless, Jeremiah would be as God's mouth and the LORD would save him from the hand of the terrible.

Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth. The LORD said to me, "Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from My presence! Let them go!
And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. If they ask You, 'Where shall we go?' tell them, 'This is what the LORD says: Those destined for death, to death. Those for the sword, to the sword. Those for famine, to famine. Those for captivity, to captivity.'
And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.I will send four kinds of destroyers against them," says the LORD: "the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the air and the wild animals to devour and destroy.
And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem.
For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will stop to ask how you are?
Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting. You have rejected Me," says the LORD. "You keep going backward. So I will reach out My hand and destroy You. I am weary of relenting.
And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.I will winnow them with a winnowing fork at the gates of the land. I will bring bereavement and destruction on My people, for they have not changed their ways.
Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.Their widows will be more numerous than the sand of the sea. At midday I will bring a destroyer against the mothers of their young men. Suddenly I will bring on them anguish and terror.
She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.The mother of seven will grow faint and breathe her last. Her sun will set while it is still day. She will be disgraced and put to shame. As for the survivors, I will hand them over to the sword before their enemies," says the LORD.
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.Woe to me, my mother, that You gave birth to me — a man with whom the whole land strives and quarrels. I have not lent or borrowed money, yet everyone curses me.
The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction. The LORD said, "Surely I will free You for a good purpose. Surely I will make Your enemies plead with You in times of disaster and distress.

O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.LORD, You understand. Remember me and care for me. Avenge me on my persecutors. You are longsuffering — do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I suffer reproach.
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. When Your words came, I received them joyfully. Your word was the joy and delight of my heart, for I bear Your name, LORD God of hosts.
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.I did not sit in the company of mockers or celebrate with them. Under Your hand I sat alone, because You had filled me with indignation.
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail? Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? Will You be to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails?
Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them. Therefore this is what the LORD says: "If You return, I will restore You and You will stand before Me. If You speak what is precious rather than what is worthless, You will be My spokesman. Let them turn to You — but do not turn to them.
