Hebrews 7

The author argues that Melchisedec — king of Salem, priest of the most high God — was greater than Abraham, since Abraham paid tithes to him. He demonstrates that Christ's priesthood after the order of Melchisedec is superior to the Levitical priesthood, because He continues for ever with an unchangeable priesthood and is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him.
