Acts 15

Men from Judaea insisted that Gentile believers must be circumcised to be saved, so Paul and Barnabas went to Jerusalem for the apostles and elders to settle the matter. James declared that Gentiles should not be burdened with the law beyond a few necessary things, and the council sent a letter confirming this decision. Paul and Barnabas parted ways over John Mark, with Barnabas sailing to Cyprus and Paul choosing Silas for his second journey.
