2 Peter 3
Peter warns that scoffers will come in the last days, asking where is the promise of Christ's coming, but declares that the Lord is not slack concerning His promise — one day is with the Lord as a thousand years. He teaches that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the earth and its works shall be burned up, so believers should live in holiness as they look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness.
