2 John 1
John writes to the elect lady and her children, rejoicing that some of them walk in truth, and gives the commandment to love one another. He warns that many deceivers have entered the world who do not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, and instructs that anyone who does not bring the doctrine of Christ should not be received into the house or given greeting.

The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; | From the elder — to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all those who have come to know the truth —
For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. | because of the truth that lives in us and will be with us forever.
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. | Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. | It gave me great joy to find some of Your children walking in the truth, just as we received commandment from the Father.
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. | And now I beseech You, dear lady — not as though I were writing You a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning — that we love one another.
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. | And this is love: that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as You have heard from the beginning, You should walk in it.
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. | For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. Such a one is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. | Watch yourselves, so that we do not lose the things we have worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. | Whoever goes beyond and does not remain in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. The one who remains in the doctrine of Christ — He has both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: | If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive Him into Your house, and do not bid Him God speed.
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. | For whoever bids him God speed shares in His evil deeds.
Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. | I have many things to write to You, but I would rather not use paper and ink. I hope instead to come to You and speak face to face, so that our joy may be full.
The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen. | The children of Your elect sister greet You. Amen.
